Evil Dead: The Musical

For those who don't know, this hilarious live stage show takes all the elements of the cult classic horror films, Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness then combines them to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time.
Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes... and all to music.
The songs in the show are completely off the wall as well. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" and "What the F*@k was That" will have you rolling in your seats, and screaming for more and more blood.
You don't need to be a fan of Evil Dead to love this show. You don't need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don't even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun... this show is for you.
The "Splatter Zone" is a special VIP ticket where YOU will really become part of the fun and action. Dress down; because you are sure to get splattered throughout the show with 'blood' and demon guts!
 Interesting Evil Dead Fact
Hebephrenic ( a type of schizophrenia ) Stag: sometimes it’s known as simply “The Gump,” a name of unknown derivation. The mounted stag’s head appears on a wall and begins to laugh madly and incessantly at anything the homeowner does. It will appear as a normal taxidermied specimen when anyone else is present to see it, but its raucous noise can be heard by others--and is almost invariably attributed to the home owner.

Sometimes Reality Really is Scarier than Fiction

While on a pharmacy run I ran into the Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil crazy doll car ... scary stuff!
While walking around a nice Uptown neighborhood, that feeling of someone ( or something! ) watching you is actually true.

House of Shock

Started off the night with dinner at Noodle and Pie
This is the first year that the House of Shock created an outside "Halloween Festival", that included a bar, food truck, and rides.
We got the Zombie Funnel Cake
On the hour, there is a gory show with pyrotechnics while waiting in line to get in.
They also have a continuous loop of classic horror movie clips playing on screen as well.
Every night there is a live rock band to enjoy as well

The Mortuary 2013

Happy October Everyone!
It's my favorite time of the year and I visited The Mortuary with a friend for a Zombie themed haunted house experience.
Part of the fun is waiting in line since they always have some great spooky characters walking around and pretty cool visual effects as well
I particularly enjoy the NOLA setting (of the dome) in the background of this Special News Report of the zombie invasion taking over the city.
Be warned: there are some gruesome and gory props all around.
